Christians please help?

i just went to this church this past sunday and im a christian but sometimes i just dont understand why some of the people in the church raise their hands and worship god off of a song. i mean i worship god but i cant get all into it off of a song. i feel more comfortable when im at home alone to do that. and then i talked to some people at the church about this and they said well you must not have the spirit because you dont speak in tounges and raise your hands in church!!!!! and then this one guy said man your really not into worshiping god r u? what i want to know is if i dont raise my hands in church and act like everybody else doest that mean i dont have the "holy spirit"?
