Would an EMP leave us open for invasion?

Nope, all government and military based communication/radar/whatever else they control devices are EMP hardened along with certain key government buildings and almost all military hardware. Even if they did get knocked out they would have the worlds biggest and strongest navy to contend with. Plus NATO forces.
